Stock placeholderNext Day Freight
Scheduled for delivery on the next business day.
Next Day is the standard service for freight that isn't time-critical: booked today, and on the road tomorrow on the regular scheduled run for that area, rather than a special same-day dispatch.
This suits the majority of freight moving through the network: routine parcels, regular account freight, anything where a same-day rush isn't needed and the job can move on the ordinary scheduled network into its destination area. It's the default booking type for freight without an unusual urgency or handling requirement.
It doesn't suit freight that has to move the same day it's booked, since that's Same Day rather than Next Day. It also doesn't suit freight bound for an area outside the regular scheduled network, where the routing may look different from a standard Next Day job. That's worth confirming directly rather than assumed from the destination alone.
To book a Next Day job, we need the pickup and delivery addresses, a description of the freight, and any handling notes relevant to loading or delivery. Coverage and frequency for the destination town are tracked on that town's delivery-area page and are still being confirmed area by area, so it's worth checking before booking if the destination is one of the less-established towns.
